Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Let's run through my week, shall we?

On Tuesday, one of my lifelong friends (well, since Kindergarten) died of meningitis. She was probably the first person I can remember being spontaneously nice to me-first time I met her, she came up to me and straight up gave me one of those bigass boxes of crayons (in Kindergarten, those were a huge deal) because I didn't have any. That generosity was infectious (bad word choice there, I know) and admirable, especially in my neck of the woods. I wouldn't call her my best friend-we had our drifting aparts and all, but she was a good friend. We had a memorial on Tuesday, and again today. I'm honestly just numb. I'm not the crying type, but I feel like the wind's been knocked out of me.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Also, my best friend keeps mysteriously bailing on any plans my other friends have. I can't be certain, but I'd wager a bet that his girlfriend's behind it (there's usually a snapchat or Instagram post within 5 minutes of bailing of him with his girlfriend). She's very...clingy, to say the least. Either that or he hates me all of a sudden but can't say it to my face. Lovely.

I'm so sorry for your loss mate. Death especially unexpected can really knock you for six and make you wonder but you've got to pick yourself up because you're still here and have a life to live. Think of all the good times and don't dwell on the rest.

Your other friend sounds like he's trying to keep his partner sweet and unfortunately that usually equate to spending less time with your friends and more time with your partner and her friends who you invariably don't like. Don't let it shut each other out of each others lives but try and accept that there is a change in the friendship dynamic but to keep in touch letting each other know your both still there.

So sorry for your loss, that's awful, even more because it's so young. I'm sure you'll keep her in your head & heart, and honor her by being that spontaneously nice to others.

As for your buddy, welcome to high school and girlfriends 101. Strong enough friends outlast that kind of thing and laugh about it later, so don't sweat it.

My Condolences dude.

The last two weeks have been terrible for me with cars.

Last week my 98 Cav's overflow tank blew due to pressure from a clogged radiator. We put it in our driveway. My dad helped me buy a 00 Cav from one of his friends. 3 days after driving that Cav something was wrong. It idled rough and smelled like waffles and syrup. Check Engine light pops on. Two cylinders were filled with coolant and now it wont turn on.

I am truly sorry you lost a friend. The word gets thrown around far too loosely. You don't sound like the type that takes it for granted. At 56 I can tell you that I've had a great life so far. Not because I haven't lost a friend, I have. But the great thing about making these types of friends is you've done it once and you can do it again. I know a lot of people but am only close to a few. But I will say it happens more frequently when I am a friend first.
